Why are you doing crossfit?
Crossfit makes me physically and mentally strong to tackle any other aspect thrown my way in life.
What got you started doing crossfit?
I was really into running. My husband started this Crossfit thing when he was stationed in Southern Maine. When he was transferred home and joined CFA, it sparked my interest to give it a shot. I've been hooked ever since.
Why do you stay with it?
I have become so much stronger. What I love more than the physical gains is the amount of friendships I have made with other members of the gym. The amazing people you meet at this place can never be replaced.
Why do you Crossfit and what do you like most about it?
I love the people- Coaches, Athletes, the strong community it has grown to be. Everyone is welcoming- no matter where you come from, who you are or what you can and cannot do. You are accepted and pushed to your maximum potential to make you better than you were yesterday.
We all have goals-what are you working towards?
My goals are to feel accomplished in my family life- Be a loving mom and wife. Live each day with a purpose for the people that need me.
When did you start doing Crossfit?
How do you get through and what is the most difficult/frustrating WOD?
Any WOD with SQUATS! Squats are my weakness, I get through them by doing them more. You have to work your weaknesses to get better at them, I have come so far but I have a long way to go! I get through tough workouts by focusing on one rep at a time, staying focused, and chipping away.
What workout really gets you excited when you walk into the box?
Your favorite CrossFit movement and your most dreaded CF movement.
Favorite: Rope Climbs, Box Jumps, Jerks and Snatches. Least Favorite: Back Squats, Wall Balls, Thrusters.
What eating plans do you follow and what is your typical "go to" meal/snack?
Zone! It makes me perform well, feel great, and fit in my clothes. "Go To": Steamed veggies, Leftover chicken/pork/beef from the dinner before, almonds. Breakfast is mostly eggs, oats, nut butter. When I don't have anything planned or packed, greek yogurt, cottage cheese, fruit, protein smoothies are easy.
What is your favorite cheat?
Everyone in the world knows my answer: Beer, Burritos, Pizza, Ice Cream
What made you want to get your L1?
I wanted to gain more knowledge on the fundamentals of Crossfit.
What certifications or specialties do you have? (CrossFit or Other, School sports played?)
CF L1, I also have six years of experience in nutrition coaching, running challenges and helping people lose weight. Nutrition and helping others figure out a lifestyle that works for them is my passion!
What hobbies do you have?
Camping and basically anything outdoors.
What do you do when you're not crossfitting?
Spending quality time with my family. Taking my daughter to do fun things!
