Congratulations. The fact that you’re here means you are interested in your health and well being. It doesn’t matter what brought you here: a devoted friend’s persistence, a coach or doctor’s recommendation, or maybe inspiration from the latest Reebok commercial… regardless, welcome to CrossFit Acadia!

One of the things that makes CrossFit so unique is our community of people. We are stay-at-home parents, elite athletes, students, CEOs, members of the armed services, firefighters, fishermen, elementary school teachers, you name it. CrossFit bodies—our bodies—come in every imaginable size, shape, and age; and yet, our workouts are designed for everyone.

The very first thing you will discover is that CrossFit does not discriminate. Whether you are 60 years old, or have just completed a marathon, are recovering from injury, or walking the dog is the only exercise you’ve had in years, CrossFit will help you achieve your fitness goals.

Regardless of a person’s past or current fitness level, everyone who comes to CrossFit Acadia is first provided with the opportunity to learn our basic techniques, terminology, warm ups, and exercises. These classes meet two times a week, for four consecutive weeks (check out our current pricing).

Group Foundations classes provide small group attention. As you work through the sessions you and your fellow newcomers learn the correct form for basic, functional CrossFit movements, and slowly work up, increasing your level of intensity. Foundations is the perfect place to ask questions before transitioning into regular classes. We also offer private sessions with one of our head coaches if you are unable to come to scheduled on-ramp times.

(*If you trained in another certified location, and are already familiar with CrossFit methodologies, you may be eligible to enter the all-levels classes per recommendation from a previous coach.)

Scale it ’til you nail it

We motivate one another, cheer one another on, and sometimes participate in some healthy competition. But, ultimately, every workout is yours alone. You should never look at the workout the night before and think you should not come in because you can’t do it.

Scaling and modification are words that you will hear frequently here at CFA. Scaling makes it possible for people of all levels of ability to work alongside one another safely and reach our goals together. All of our workouts can be modified for skill level, previous injuries, range of motion ability, even for pre- and post-pregnancy needs. We will modify your workout so that you are safe, and still strengthening your whole body.
